🎨 Manuscripts in Motion: Painting the Words & of Yiddish Song - An Artworkshop Drawing from the tradition of Jewish illuminated manuscripts, we will celebrate the harmony between visual art and the written word that has always been a core component of Jewish tradition. We will create a still life of fruits, vegetables, and interesting objects and then use these images to decorate a selection of Yiddish folk song lyrics. We will learn painting technique while also creating our own illuminated musical scores to use as art pieces or for performance. Feel free to bring any small ritual objects or interesting household items to add to the still life.

Raised in a family of geologists, Annelisa drew her first creative inspiration from camping in the deserts and mountains of the American Southwest. She is inspired by light and color, the natural world, spirituality, and feminine eroticism.
