Resilience Through Music – In Memory of Yotam Haim

Join us for an evening with Jerusalem-based drummer and musician Tuval Haim, who will talk about resilience and how music can help us navigate through times of crisis. Tuval Haim is currently working on a commemorative album called “Darkness into Light”, dedicated to his brother Yotam, who was taken captive by Hamas from his home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza on October 7, 2023. After months in captivity Yotam managed to escape, but he was tragically killed accidentally by the IDF.

Tuval now dedicates his music and work to the memory of his late brother, and the Haim family has founded the “Yotam’s Life Association”. Tuval will tell us about his journey after his brother’s captivity, how he found connection with Yotam through music, and how his brother struggled with mental health issues throughout his life and yet never lost his will to live.

The evening is co-hosted by AJC Berlin, Hillel Deutschland and Zusammen Berlin and moderated by Rachel Spicker. The event takes place on April 28, and doors open at 7pm. The exact location will be communicated upon registration. Refreshments will be served.
